Your Car Deserves Better Than a Drive-Through Wash
You spend real time in that vehicle. Commutes through downtown, runs up Signal Mountain, kids in the back seat. Your car is basically a second living space. And right now, if you're honest, it looks like one that hasn't been cleaned in three months.
The coffee smell from the back cup holder. The fine swirl marks that make the paint look scratchy in sunlight even though you've never had a door dinged. The dog hair that somehow migrated into every seam of the rear seat. The water spots on the windows that a squeegee swipe just smears around.
An automated car wash gets the big stuff. It doesn't get any of that. And it's almost definitely adding to the swirl marks with its abrasive brushes.
A real detail — the kind where someone who cares about paint is hand-washing, clay barring, and finishing with a proper wax or sealant — is a completely different result. And with mobile detailing, it comes to you.
What Drive-Through Washes Are Actually Doing to Your Paint
This one surprises most car owners: automated tunnel washes with spinning brushes or fabric cloths are a major source of swirl marks. The marks aren't from contact damage in the traditional sense — they're from the accumulated grit those cloths pick up from the car before yours, dragged across your paint at speed. Under direct sunlight, those swirl marks make a clean car look dull and scratched even at a distance.
Beyond paint, here's what builds up and why it matters:
- Interior surfaces. Dashboard plastic, leather, and vinyl break down from UV exposure and cleaning chemicals used incorrectly. A clean interior treated with the right conditioner actually lasts longer.
- Upholstery and carpet. Dirt that works into seat fibers and carpet pile grinds against the fabric every time someone sits down. Deep extraction cleans what a vacuum pass can't reach.
- Brake dust on wheels. Brake dust is iron-based and mildly acidic. Left on wheel surfaces long enough, it etches and pits.
- Resale value. A vehicle with maintained paint and a clean interior consistently sells for more. A detail before listing is one of the highest-ROI things you can do.
What a Professional Detail Actually Includes
This is what separates a real detail from a glorified car wash. Here's the full process, step by step.
Inspection & Assessment
We assess your paint condition, interior, and any problem areas before starting. You know exactly what will be done and why — no surprise upsells.
Exterior Deep Clean
Two-bucket hand wash with dedicated wash mitt, full wheel and tire cleaning, and iron decontamination spray to pull bonded brake dust from wheel surfaces.
Clay Bar & Decontamination
Clay bar treatment removes bonded contamination — tree sap, industrial fallout, overspray — that washing can't touch. This is required before any wax or sealant will bond properly.
Polish & Paint Protection
Polish removes light swirl marks and oxidation. Wax or paint sealant bonds to clear coat and protects from UV, water spots, and environmental contamination.
Interior & Final Walkthrough
Full vacuum, compressed air into every vent and seam, surface wipe-down, leather or vinyl conditioning, streak-free glass cleaning. We do a walkthrough with you before leaving. Results guaranteed.
What Chattanooga Drivers Are Saying
Real results from real customers across the area
"I bought a used pickup that had been a trade-in and the interior was rough — dog hair everywhere, a smell I couldn't identify, general grime. The interior detail was honestly incredible. My daughter got in the back and asked if I got a new truck. Same truck."
— Marcus B. North Shore, TN
"The swirl marks on my black sedan had been driving me crazy for two years. I didn't realize how bad they were until the paint correction was done and I saw the difference side by side. Not cheap, but the paint looks better than when I bought it."
— Rachel T. East Brainerd, TN
"Had them do a full detail before selling my SUV. Listed it for $1,500 more than the trade-in value I'd been quoted. Sold in 48 hours. The detail cost $300. Math was easy."
— Paul & Susan K. Chattanooga, TN

Questions Chattanooga Car Owners Ask Before Booking
Will you make the swirl marks worse?
Only if we use the wrong polishing compound, the wrong pad, or skip paint condition assessment. We inspect the paint before any corrective work, use appropriate product for each paint type, and go over exactly what results you should expect. We don't make promises we can't deliver.
Which package do I actually need?
We'll tell you honestly during the booking call based on what you describe. If the interior is the main issue, the full exterior detail may not be necessary. If you're prepping to sell, the full detail is almost always the right call. We're not here to upsell you on services your car doesn't need.
Are the interior products safe for my leather, my kids, my dog?
We use pH-balanced, non-toxic interior cleaners as standard. Leather conditioning products are appropriate for the material type. If you have specific product concerns or sensitivities, tell us during booking and we accommodate.
How long does it take?
A full interior + exterior detail on a standard sedan runs 3–5 hours. Larger vehicles, paint correction, or heavy interior restoration add time. We give you a realistic window during booking so you can plan accordingly.
Do I need to be there while you work?
No. You need to be there at the start to do a walkthrough and confirm scope, and at the end to inspect the result. In between, go about your day.
How often should I get a detail?
Full detail: 1–2 times per year, depending on use. Ceramic-coated vehicles need a maintenance wash every 3–6 months. In Chattanooga's pollen-heavy spring, most vehicle owners benefit from at least a spring decontamination detail. We'll give you a maintenance recommendation based on your situation.
What Chattanooga Does to Your Car's Finish
Chattanooga's humidity, spring pollen season, and proximity to industrial corridors means vehicles accumulate contamination faster than most markets — clay bar treatment and sealant aren't optional, they're protective maintenance.
Pollen Season
Chattanooga's abundant oak canopy and Signal Mountain tree coverage mean sap and tannin deposits are constant from February through May. Pollen bonds to clear coat quickly in humidity and etches if left untreated. Clay bar treatment removes it; tunnel washes can't.
Industrial Fallout
Proximity to industrial corridors and the Tennessee River Valley means iron particles from industrial fallout and railroad brake dust deposit on paint regularly. These particles cause rust spots if not removed — iron decontamination is a standard part of every detail we do.
Humidity & UV
Tennessee Valley humidity promotes mildew in car interiors if left unaddressed between details. Extended sun exposure fades paint and oxidizes clear coat. Paint correction and sealant keep oxidation from compounding year over year.
We detail vehicles across Chattanooga, Cleveland, Dalton, Fort Oglethorpe, and surrounding Southeast Tennessee communities — and we understand what cars in this climate actually need.
Your Car Is Ready When You Are
